A hand-turned Swiss stone pine (Zirbe) ball, 7 cm across, that rests on the mouth of a filled carafe for 30-60 minutes to pass the wood's scent and taste to drinking water.

- Sits on the carafe rather than in the water, so nothing is steeped in the drink
- Steeping time can be varied between 30 and 60 minutes to change how strong the taste is
- Sized to fit the maker's own 1 l and 0.5 l glass pine-ball carafes

- A carafe is needed separately for it to be used
- Measures 7 cm in diameter, and on any other carafe the opening has to match that size, or the ball can drop into the neck, stick there and break the glass
- Not compatible with the maker's Flower of Life carafe (art. no. 48186)
- The wood must not touch the water
- Should be taken off the carafe after the stated time; left longer, it takes up moisture and can suction onto the glass
- Has to be placed and removed for each jug of water
