- Pink Himalayan salt is required for the method to work and is not included in this kit; towels and a placenta basket are also not supplied
- The placenta must be re-coated with salt and herbs on every side at least three times a day, and the towels changed as needed, over the 5 to 8 days the drying takes
- A second herb powder sachet is applied from day 3 onward, or sooner if the placenta begins to smell
- Must never be sprinkled on the baby or on the cord at the baby's end — only on the placenta
- Contains sage (about 25% of the mix), which reduces milk supply; not to be drunk as an infusion
